BaFin - Navigation & Service

The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) warns consumers about the website stargos.co. According to information available to BaFin, financial and investment services are being provided on this website without the required authorisation.

The operators of the website refer to themselves only as Stargos without stating the company’s legal form. A business address in London, United Kingdom, is provided.

The content of the website stargos.co is almost identical to that of numerous other dubious websites which have already been the subject of warnings by BaFin. Visitors to all of these websites were greeted with the phrase: “Step Into the Trading Arena with Confidence & [name of website]“. On the website stargos.co, this introductory text has been replaced with the phrase: “Customized Strategies for Your Success”.

BaFin has received information that employees of the platform stargos.co provide their customers with a “licence” from the “Financial Services Commission”, which is supposedly valid for trading brokers. The “FCA” is named as issuing authority. BaFin’s logo, among others, can be found at the bottom of these letters. BaFin expressly points out that these documents are falsified. Such documents are not issued by BaFin or by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Anyone providing financial or investment services in Germany may do so only with authorisation from BaFin. However, some companies offer these services without the necessary authorisation. Information on whether a particular company has been authorised by BaFin can be found in BaFin’s database of companies.

Theinformation provided by BaFin is based on section 37 (4) of the German Banking Act (KreditwesengesetzKWG).

Please be aware:

BaFin, the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BundeskriminalamtBKA) and the German state criminal police offices (Landeskriminalämter) recommend that consumers seeking to invest money online should exercise the utmost caution and do the necessary research beforehand in order to identify fraud attempts at an early stage.
