On 7 December 2022, BaFin imposed administrative fines totalling 160,000 euros on a natural person due to breaches of section 33 (1) sentence 1 and section 34 (1) sentence 1 of the German Securities Trading Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz – WpHG).
An appeal may be lodged against the administrative fine order.

Update (11.07.2024):
In the oral hearing on 21 May 2024, the appeal against the administrative fine notice was partially withdrawn. In its decision of 21 May 2024, the Frankfurt am Main Local Court (Amtsgericht Frankfurt am Main) discontinued the proceedings in accordance with section 47 (2) of the German Act on Regulatory Offences (Ordnungswidrigkeitengesetz – OWiG). The administrative fine notice in the amount of EUR 40,000 is legally binding.
