Amendments to section 9 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) will come into effect on 01 April 2003. From this date onwards, customers who are not subject to the reporting requirements will have to be identified by means of a securities account or customer number (section 9 (2) sentence 2 no. 7 WpHG). Furthermore, the report must contain a marker to identify the principal, unless he is identical with the securities account holder (section 9 (2) sentence 2 no. 8 WpHG).
